Arrived in the Philippines earlier today and was greeted by Bro. Quinlan and two other missionary couples.  We had a great time of fellowship over lunch then headed north towards Angeles City.  Bro. Quinlan stopped off to get me some Starbucks coffee and then we headed over to the church.  It was great to see about 50 teens and young adults there for soul-winning as they prepare for tomorrow night's youth revival.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to preach to these young people and we are praying that souls will be saved and lives changed for Christ.  After giving Bro. Tom the tour of the church and schools, we were  treated to a nice dinner by several of...

Bro. Tom Omli and I are on our way to the Philippines on a short mission trip.  We look forward to being with Mountain View Baptist Church on their "Builder's Day" as they try to raise the final money to complete their new church auditorium. I will be preaching a youth rally tomorrow night as well as doing some other things up until Sunday with them and then off to Baguio City.  There I will teach the Bible College Alumni retreat with workshops during the day and preaching services at night.  I love the our Filipino brothers and sisters and their hearts for the Lord.  We are now in Taiwan awaiting our flight to Manila...

The Bible states in Jeremiah 15:16, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me hte joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name O Lord God of hosts."  Through the Word of God we see several men or prophets that were told by God to "eat his words".  Here, Jeremiah found joy and rejoicing by eating them.  The prophet Ezekiel was told to eat the "roll" in Ezekiel 2 and then go and give God's Words to the people of Israel.  John, in Revelation 10:9,10 was told to take the little book and "eat it up", and that in his mouth it will be sweet as honey, but...

Heard a great message tonight by Bro. Paul Chappell at Spiritual Leadership Conference 2010.  It was a great challenge and reminder about our need to be Spirit Led people and preachers.  In an illustration in which he read a piece of mail promoting an evangelical church conference, it stated that we need to "Re-Think" church. Evangelicals have it all wrong...

I was thinking this morning about how blessed I really am.  I have a loving Savior who saved me and gave me a home and heaven and a life to live down here that has purpose and meaning.  I have a wonderful comforter in the Holy Spirit who convicts me of my sin and guides me in my everyday decisions.  I have a wonderful, beautiful family...

Last night I preached out of II Timothy 2:1-5 and focusing in on what Paul was challenging Timothy to do.  He reminded him to endure hardness as a good soldier and to strive in his walk with the Lord lawfully.  Timothy needed to please the Lord, who had chosen him to be a soldier.  But Paul also encouraged him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and charged him to commit what he had learned "from Paul" to faithful men, who would in turn teach others.  I don't believe Paul to be a worrier, but we do see him concerned about whether the labor he had bestowed upon people would be in vain.  I do believe...

I apologize for those who have been coming to this blog for updates and not finding anything. I will begin to regularly update the site starting this next week. These blogs will have content from the messages I preached at BBC as well as opinions on the news of the day and general family updates. I look forward to hearing from you...

"Seven Steps to Success" 1) Make a commitment to grow daily. 2) Value the process more than events. 3) Don't wait for inspiration. 4) Be willing to sacrifice pleasure for opportunity. 5) Dream big. 6) Plan your priorities. 7) Give up to go up. * John Maxwell...

John 10:7-11, “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” I am so thankful that in 1987, as a teenager, I entered in through the...

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14 The month of May is one of my favorite times of the year. Spring is in the air, and with it our annual Spring Revival. I love the special...
