THE question!

THE question!

Of all of the questions in life, there is one that we all must answer. This question is stated in Matthew 22:41-46, “While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then called him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.”

The question Christ put to those Pharisees is the question He puts to us: “What think ye of Christ?” There is no shortage of questions that people ask me as a pastor. People want to know how to pay their bills or what to think about the politics of the day. They want to know how they should spend their time, or how they should raise their families, and much more. All of these questions are legitimate ones, but the question above is the most important of all.
Simon Peter answered Jesus saying, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”. I say to you, who is Christ? What think ye of Christ?

If Jesus is who He says He is, He is God. You need to know God as your Savior. If Jesus Christ is not God, if He is simply a creation of God, then God is not directly involved in salvation. Jesus is indeed God, and God is directly involved in salvation. God demanded the payment for our sin. God is the only holy, pure, perfect One who could demand the payment for our sin debt. Won’t you trust Jesus as your Savior today?
