Of all of the questions in life, there is one that we all must answer. This question is stated in Matthew 22:41-46, “While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then called him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more...

Article from CarySchmidt.com that I think needs repeating: Ever noticed that some people relish the criticism of pastors? Like kids and candy—they addict themselves even though it’s rotting something in them. While choosing voluntarily to stay under his leadership, they commit themselves to finding and exploiting every possible imperfection. I’ve never understood this thinking. Selecting a pastor, only to proceed to condemn the selection doesn’t make sense. It’s a strange, sad little game that brings some bizarre satisfaction. The next time you are tempted to join this crowd and participate in “roasted pastor” after Sunday services, take a moment to remember this list… Remember the sacrifice he makes to be in the ministry—good pastors would be good at a lot of other things,...

I always look forward to Resurrection Sunday every year. I am thankful for the opportunity to not only reflect upon the meaning of the resurrection, but to preach to the people of Berean Baptist Church. The church was full of members and visitors and there was a sweet spirit. There were no professions of faith, but one raised his hand for prayer about salvation and I got a chance to talk with him briefly afterward. I want to thank everyone that helped prepare the church campus the day before and for all of the hard work that was put into the services. The evening services were just as blessed, with good attendance and message from the Portrait...

Had a wonderful time last night at Berean Baptist Church as we observed the Lord's Supper. I am so grateful for the sacrifice that the Lord made for me and I am ashamed that my sin caused so much suffering. I am thankful for the local church, the Word of God, and the privilege we have to celebrate this memorial. I am praying that it was a blessing to our church members and that their walks with the Lord are strengthened by it....

Today I am especially thankful for all of the people that come out on Saturdays to serve the Lord and their community. I am encouraged by the number of people who come out for our bus ministry outreach, Saturation Saturdays, and soul-winning. Another thing that we have been doing is serving down at the Tacoma Rescue mission. Fifteen people at a time sign up to go down and prep food, serve, organize, clean, and do whatever they can to help. Unfortunately, many Christians really don't know what it is like to serve someone, that they will not receive anything in return from. Thank you for all of you who come. Looking forward to a...
